AHH!! I Thought That was a Twig!

*South African Vine Snake*

The South African Vine snake is found in Mozambique, Eastern Zimbabwe through the Eastern part of South Africa.

Vine snakes have a unique pupils they're slitted sideways making them look like a key hole.
They have pointed heads, with a dull grey, or grey brown colorization also, including amoebic-like spots. Following up with a red-black tongue.

Females can lay up to 4-13 eggs and are extremely aggressive when guarding their eggs. (What mother wouldn't be?) When the babies are full grown they can reach 1 meter long!

The reason they are called vine snakes is because, to keep from being detected they will actually sway back and forth. Making an illusion.

They can actually be mistaking for a twig blowing in the wind but, when in danger stay real still.

South African Vine snakes diets consists of: lizards, frogs, small birds, and even other snakes.

Vine snakes are pretty timid snakes, they'll only attack if provoked.
They have potentially lethal haemotoxic venom.
There isn't any cure for this particular bite in Africa.

Even though it is seldom encountered and deaths are extremely rare...I recommend this guy staying in the wild.

*Remember don't own a reptile or any kind of pet without finding out if;A: It's legal to own.B: You have done a lot of research and absolutely know how to care for the animal.and C: If it is non-venomous or venomous.

Be Safe!
